ATIWA: DCE assures Police of maximum support

The District Chief Executive for Atiwa in the Eastern region, Mr. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, has assured Personnel of the Ghana Police Service of government’s support to assist them protect lives and property in the district.

He said peace was paramount for the development of the district and therefore the need to support the police to safe guard it.

 Mr. Kwabena Nkansah gave the assurance when he paid a familiarisation visits to the Kwabeng and Anyinam Police Command and interacted with the personnel.

 He expressed worry about the extent of damage caused by the activities of illegal miners in the area and called on the Police to ensure strict adherence to the ban and fight the galamsey activities head on.

 The Anyinam Police Commander, Supt. Eric Asamoah Asiedu, in welcoming the DCE, mentioned inadequate personnel, inadequate vehicle, lack of computers and printers as some the challenges hindering the smooth discharge of their duties.

 He added that the Anyinam Command was currently operating from a rented apartment and appealed to the DCE for an assistance to complete an ongoing project which was at foundation level.
