Date Created : 3/17/2017 : Story Author : Emmanuel Frimpong

The project, which is being financed by the Dutch Government will focus on posting nurses to rural and deprived communities is in response to the growing instances of the refusal of trained nurses to be posted to these areas.

Speaking at the Launch, Mr. Saeed expressed his optimism that the new development will help arrest the frequency of increased maternal mortality and poor health service delivery in the deprived communities.

He said the project will also complement government's efforts of absorbing trained health professionals since increasing number of private health training centers continue to challenge government's ability to absorb all trained nurses.

He lauded the Dutch government for its timely intervention and observed that quality healthcare delivery was central to the survival of any society and conveyed the president's appreciation for the support.

On his part, Mr Peter Vander Ploeg who spoke on behalf of the Dutch government, appealed to the government of Ghana and other stakeholders to give the project all the needed support to ensure its success.

Also representing the Dutch government were Mr Ans Voorduuw, Mr Joop Cloppers, Mr Annermirh Roven Horst and Dr Esman Otupiri.
