ASANTE A S: Collins Ntim, MCE tour cocoa seedling project
The quest by the Asante Akim South Municipal Assembly to boost cocoa production through assisting farmers with cocoa seedlings is seriously on course the Municipal Chief Executive, Alexander Frimpong has stated.

He expressed this when the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Collins Ntim with some Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives joined Mr. Alexander Frimpong to tour the seedling growing site in the Asante Akim South municipality.
He indicated that what they (Assembly) awaits now is the implementation of the District Committee on Agriculture, Commerce and Technology, (DCACT).
The Asante Akim South Municipality took the giant step when it launched the project of raising cocoa seedlings, in October 2017, to be distributed freely cocoa farmers in the municipality.
“So far, we have raised 75, 000 seedlings at two sites including Tokwai Odumase and Payase, fully funded by the assembly”, the MCE stated.
“Our goal is to raise 1,000,000 cocoa seedlings and distribute to farmers annually. We await the DCACT”.
