He reminded the people that the government in power is acting in the interest of the entire country and called on citizens to be law abiding and act in a manner that will ensure peace and progress of the country.

He urged the traders to remain united for purposes of growth and development, stating that political affiliations should not be stumbling block to our growth and development.

“After the December 7, 2024, election, there is a new government in place led by John Dramani Mahama, and we need to do whatever we have to do to make Ghana a peaceful place.

We should all stay as people from one mother whether you are from, CPP, NDC or NPP. For those of you who support NPP, when we vote one party would be the winner, adding that it happened in the past but the NPP bounced back stronger.

Mr. Afenyo-Markin gave the admonishment when he led the Minority Caucus to present GHC200,000.00 to the leadership of the Kantamanto Market Traders who lost their wares in the inferno on January 2, 2025.

He advised particularly members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be circumspect with their utterances on radio and television as the party takes steps to rebuild for a comeback.
