Bantama MP awards scholarships to over 100 students

The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has once again presented scholarship packages to 105 brilliant but needy tertiary students and provided livelihood support for 70 petty traders from various communities in the constituency.

This marks the third consecutive occurrence of such a gesture, benefitting more than 400 constituents. The initiative includes financial support for traders which have been consistently upheld since its inception.

At a brief ceremony held at the forecourt of his constituency office, Asenso-Boakye who is also the Minister for Works and Housing, stated that as part of his effort to enhance education in the constituency before he assumed office, he decided to use his common fund to provide scholarships for students and support petty traders.
“Today, I am here to present another set of scholarships to 105 brilliant and needy students.

I believe this gesture will go a long way to offset the academic fees and expenses of the students and will enable the beneficiaries to focus on their studies and pursue their fields of interest without any financial burden.” He stated.
Additionally, under the MPs Livelihood Support Scheme, seventy (70) market women operating in the area were granted financial assistance to help support their businesses.

The purpose is to facilitate the growth of entrepreneurship in the community and support the livelihoods of the beneficiaries.


He also emphasized that the fundamental principles of leadership involve service and dedication which many can attest to his unwavering commitment during my three years in office covering areas such as security, education, infrastructure, sports and road construction.

These strategic initiatives aim to elevate the overall quality of life in our community.
