Asutifi North District commemorates world toilet day
The Asutifi North District Assembly and its development partners have jointly celebrated this year’s World Toilet Day and Global Hand washing at Kenyasi No.2 Durbar Grounds in grand style.

This year’s celebration was dubbed “Clean Hands for All” and Leaving No One Behind”.
Speaking at the occasion, District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Anthony Adjei Mensah revealed President Akuffo Addo’s readiness and commitment to see every household with toilet facility and safe drinking water by 2030.
He said, in order to accomplish this, the District Assembly has built some toilet facilities for Communities and Schools who do not have the toilets.
Touching on some of these facilities, the DCE said, the assembly has constructed 4 boreholes for schools in the area.
On his part, Mr. John Yemoah Aboagye, who was speaking on behalf of the Mr. Augustine Asare Amoako, Director of GES Asutifi North District, was optimistic that, by 2030, every household in the district would have a toilet facility.
He entreated all school children to be ambassadors by teaching their siblings and parents on proper hand washing, adding that “Today’s theme should tell us we should always wash our hands with soap, washing hands without soap is not hand washing.”
He pleaded with World Vision and the District Assembly to supply schools with The Veronica Buckets for them to practice proper hand washing.
