BIBIANI: DCE observes “My First Day at School” with pupils

District Chief Executive of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District in the Western Region, Alfred Amoah has reiterated the assembly’s resolve to help create conducive teaching and learning environment to boost academic activities in the district.

His assurance follows observations of some challenges confronting some schools in the district during his tour of selected schools to mark “My First Day at School”.

This day is instituted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and observed at the beginning of every academic year to welcome particularly new entrants mostly kindergarten and class one pupils into the formal education system.

 

During this period, prominent members in society go round the schools to welcome the pupils and to motivate them to stay in school and take their studies seriously.

The DCE and his entourage including the Basic Education Coordinator, Patience Aku Fenteng, Technical Manager (WSDB), Mr. Franklin Asibey Appiah Kubi, among others visited a number of schools some of which include Morno, Adobewura, Aboabo, Krodua, Nkronua, Chirano, Awaso, and Sefwi Bekwai among others.

Mr. Amoah advised thepupils to be serious, obedient and be regular at school. He also threw light on the free senior high school policy and admonished the pupils to work hard and be beneficiaries of the policy.

Not only did the team interacted with the pupils and teachers, but they paid particular attention to the challenges confronting the schools for further deliberations on addressing them.

Inadequate teachers and furniture remained the major constraints but the DCE assured of finding solutions to all these challenges.

Pupils were also presented with drinks, cups and toffees.
