According to the residents, the poor state of their roads was exposing them to diseases, road crashes and high cost of vehicular maintenance.
Speaking to the Ghanadistricts.com, Mr Adjei Boadi, a resident, said his wife is asthmatic and the dust she inhales daily has worsened her condition as a result he pays a fortune for her medical needs.
The terrible state of roads leading to farming communities in the region, has been affecting farming activities especially during the rainy season.
Madam Abiba Yayatu, another resident, said she uses most her profits from her porridge business on everyday medical check-ups due to headaches and respiratory difficulties from the dust she inhales when selling.
Other residents also appealed to the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. John Osei Frimpong to as a matter of urgency make sure he fulfils the promise he made to them that the road from Akuase and its surroundings will be tarred during his campaign.
