Provision of permanent school structures for schools that operate under trees within the country have been a situation the NDC government since 2009 has tackled tremendously by channeling most of its resources into that sector.
It is in line with this that the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has completed 41 six-unit classroom blocks for various schools within the area.
Municipal Chief Executive for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Mr. Isaac Tetteh Agbo revealed this today when he appeared on TV3’s morning show dubbed “News Stand”.
He said most of the projects were financed through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and their Assemblies own internally generated funds (IGF).
Mr. Tetteh indicated that aside the provision of school structures; ICT and science resource centres have also been provided to enable schoolchildren in the area to be at par with the rest of the world.
On employment and job creation, the MCE said a lot of people have benefited from the LESDEP and GYEEDA initiatives which aims at absorbing most unemployed as well as unskilled persons to be trained and given the tools to start their own businesses for accelerated development.
