NSUAEM: 33 youth trained under LESDEP

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Mrs. Christina Kobbinah has said her outfit will continuously collaborate with government to ensure that the NDC’s vision of scaling down the unemployment rate in the country is fully implemented.
She said government has for the past few years intensified its efforts to ensure that the ever-growing youth unemployment rate in the country is brought under control, hence the implementation of intervention programmes such as Local Enterprise and Skills Development Programme (LESDEP), Youth Enterprises and Skills Development Programme (YESDEP) among others.
The MCE further noted that beneficiaries who are made to undergo skill training in various fields of skills training are also presented with start-up kits to enable them establish their own businesses and become useful to the society.
Mrs. Kobbinah noted this when she presented start-up items procured at a cost of about GH¢33,000 to some 33 youth who were trained on how to repair mobile phone under the youth employment programme.
She reiterated by assuring that the Assembly was well prepared to do all it could to support the youth with employable skills.
