K NANKANA W:Inhabitants of Katiu to acquire over head tank facility

The Kassena Nankana West District Assembly is advancing a Small Town Water System project at Katiu, a suburb of the district to give opportunity for residents to access potable water to boost their wellbeing in the area.
The Small Town Water System project is a water and Sanitation support project initiated by the World Bank together with the Government of Ghana (GOG) which had been adopted by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLRD) to be implemented in the deprived areas of the country to push clean and safe drinking water for local dwellers.
Mr. Thomas Dalu Addah, District Chief Executive for the area revealing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said the project is moving steadily in the town, and assured that it will soon be accomplished to enable inhabitants have access to potable water.
He indicated that the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) had been playing a co-coordinating role on the project on-board at least in all the earmarked areas to support the smooth implementation of the project.
He said the project under construction which is an over head tank facility will serve inhabitants of Katiu and its surrounding environs with clean drinking water to considerably end the incidence of water borne diseases in the area.
