The Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly is expected to leap its low performance with regards to revenue mobilization, as austerity measures have this year been put in place to resolve the situation at the Assembly.
A reliable and new team of commission earners have been engaged and tasked to ensuring an effective and efficient management of revenue collection exercise in the municipality.
Mr. Edward Ayiriba Ayagle, Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com has unveiled that the new commission earners will start operations by next week since the Assembly was still putting finishing touches to seal the move and lay the proper grounds for them to begin work in an enhanced manner.
Earlier following commitment by the Assembly to improve the performance in revenue mobilization last year, the Assembly laid off the old ‘commission earners’ and engaged new task force that would temporarily assist the Assembly do an effective and efficient revenue collection exercise, which considerably saw a marked improvement in the revenue base of the Assembly.
But the engagement of the task force was momentary and therefore required that the Assembly in the shortest possible time induct a new team to replace the old commission earners in the municipality.
The MCE expressed the confidence that with the new team in place he believed the system will improve and the Assembly will perform creditably well in revenue mobilization.
