AGONA W: CEDECOM spends GHs 50 million on dev’t projects

The Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM) spent over 50 million Ghana Cedis on development projects in the Agona West Municipality in the year 2011/12.
However the projects include the construction of an Accident and Emergency Unit, Swedru Municipal Hospital, Swedru Sports Stadium, doctors’ bungalow and, construction of Wall and Museum at Swedru and procurement of Generating Plant for Swedru Government Hospital.
This was disclosed by the a Board Member of CEDECOM, Mr. Joe Appiah at an annual get-together organized by the Management of Agona Swedru Government hospital in the Agona Swedru Municipality.
He noted that about 10 Germany specialist doctors came to Swedru Hospital to offer free medical screening on various diseases in the area.
According to him, government has plans to tackle the construction of road networks in the Central Region to facilitate movement of goods and services.
