PRESTEA: Assembly mounts first street signs
|Street naming|| |
Though the Local Governance and Decentralization Program, USAID/Ghana has made it possible for the first street signs to be put up in the Prestea Huni Valley District of the Western Region.
The mounting of the street signs forms part of a bigger intervention aimed at creating a more effective business and property identification system for more effective internal revenue collection.
The signage will also make it easier for citizens and visitors to locate places, as part of efforts for better comprehensive development planning.
The street signs were mounted in line with nationally accepted street naming guidelines. When complete, the intervention, which is being implemented in four other districts of the region, will serve as a case study for the implementation of the Ghanaian national policy to properly name streets and identify all properties.
