KETU N:Three schools to get new classroom blocks

Contracts for the construction of new classroom blocks for three schools in the Ketu North District in the Volta Region have been awarded and work would soon commence, Mr Kofi Lawson, District Chief Executive has disclosed.
They include construction of 1 No. 3-unit classroom block with office and store at Ehi-Horme D/A Basic School, and similar ones at Wuti and Kuli D/A Primary Schools.
According to him, all the projects are being financed by the assembly through its share of the District Development Facility (DDF) which every assembly is required to work and qualified for after undergoing thorough assessment.
He said the assembly deemed it prudent to channel parts of its resources in constructing the school blocks in order to accelerate their quest to providing every school modern structures to ensure conducive atmosphere for learning. He said though the Ghana Education Trust Fund is carrying out its mandate of removing schools under trees, the situation confronting schools in the district require additional effort hence the intervention by the assembly.
