YILO K: Assembly presents school desks to pupils
The Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly has presented One Thousand Four Hundred (1,400) mono desks to twenty three (23) Junior High Schools (SHS) in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
Presenting the desks, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Andrews Sodah told the teachers of the beneficiary schools that the desks were part of the five thousand desks (both mono and dual) promised by the NDC government to the Municipality to enhance teaching and learning under the Better Ghana agenda and urged them to take proper care of the desks.
The MCE said he was convinced that the desks would help reduced the congestion in the classrooms of the beneficiary schools and enhanced learning conditions in those schools as envisaged by government.
Mr Joseph Agbeko Yadogla, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Municipal Education office thanked the Assembly on behalf of the Municipal Education Directorate for the gesture done the Municipality by government and promised that the Education Directorate would ensure proper use and maintenance of the desks.
In all, forty four (44) schools were expected to benefit from the five thousand desks when fully delivered.
