The intervention of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly has seen an improvement in the state of the Nungua Market making it more convenient for business.
Before 2009 when the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assumed office, the facility was in an appalling state very poor sanitary condition and weak structures.
But speaking on Citi Fm Morning show on Tuesday, Mr. Daniel Amartey Mensah Municipal Chief Executive of the municipality disclosed that all that has changed in the last four years. According to him, not only have they cleared the heap of refuse but also cemented the whole market.
Mr. Daniel Amartey Mensah added that the assembly has also installed street lights within and around the market to improve on security at the vicinity.
He also revealed that for the first time, a two-storey water closest (WC) toilet facility has also been constructed in the Nungua market to improve on sanitation.
When asked about the achievements made in education Mr. Mensah highlighted some of the immense contribution the assembly had made in that sector to include the construction of fourteen new school blocks for schools in Teshie and Nungua areas.
He said the Assembly has also successfully relocated O’reilly Senior High School to a befitting place within the municipality.
