ASSIN S: Assembly to roll-out programmes and policies soon

The Assin South District Assembly will soon roll-out its programmes and policies for the year under the “Better Ghana” agenda initiative following a directive from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) that all District Chief Executives are to retain their positions until May 2013.
However the programmes and policies of the Assembly are expected to focus much on the first quarter of the year till either the incumbent or a new DCE is eventually appointed to head the assembly before the second quarter.
A Public Relation Officer for the assembly, Mr. Samuel Asiedu made this known when speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com to highlight activities at the assembly after the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
He noted that activities at the assembly was making progress after the Local Government Ministry had release a statement urging all DCE’s to be at post until May, 2013.
Mr. Asiedu also expressed confidence that Mrs. Sabina Appiah Kubi will be given a second mandate as the Chief Executive for the Assembly after putting up a splendid performance in the past few years of being in office.
Meanwhile, Sabina Appiah Kubi, who stood as the Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just ended 2012 election lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Assin South constituency Professor Dominic Kwaku Fobih.
