ATEBUBU: 187 youth graduates from NYEP
A graduation ceremony has been held for about 187 youth in the Atebubu Amantin District in the Brong Ahafo Region who acquired special skill training under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in the area.
Beneficiaries obtained training in sectors such as dressmaking, hairdressing, Information Communication Technologies ICT, whereas some youth were also presented with tri-cycles all aimed at drastically reducing ever-growing unemployment rate in the district.
However beneficiaries were also presented with start-up kits to assist them establish their businesses.
In his key note address, the District Chief Executive Sanja Nanja, said the presentation was part of the ruling NDC’s credentials of helping scale down the high level of unemployment rate and consequently improve the standard of living in the country.
Mr. Nanja further noted that his outfit has implemented other methods of scaling down, adding that about 200 disabled persons in the district have been supported with funds ranging from GH¢300.00 to GH¢500.00 to help improve their living conditions in the area.
