EJISU: Youth presented with trade and vocation tools
Sixty five sewing machines and thirty five hair dryers together with hair rollers and pins have been presented to some beneficiaries of the Trade and Vocation module under the National youth and Employment Programme in the Ejisu-Juabeng Municipality.
The presentation was done yesterday at the premises of the National Youth Employment in the Municipality.
Presenting the items to the first batch of the group who have successfully undergone one and half years apprenticeship in both sewing and hair dressing, the Municipal Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme, Mr Charles Amoateng encouraged the beneficiaries to set themselves up since they now had what it took to go into their chosen trade and vocation.
He said the move was part of government’s programme to reduce youth unemployment country wide and discounted rumours that distributions of the equipment had political inclination.
“Anybody who is interested in learning a trade or vocation under any module can enrol, it’s not political”, he added.
He, however, cautioned them against any attempt to sell the equipment instead of using them for the intended purpose.
Beneficiaries who could not hide their excitement commended government for its commitment to reduce unemployment among the youth, adding this is indeed a better Ghana Agenda.
Parents of the beneficiaries also extolled government for lifting up some burden off their shoulders.
