TMA: Community ‘11’ receives computers from donors
Management and staff of the Community ‘11’ School Complex on Monday took delivery of 13 computers and accessories donated by two US institutions for use in the school’s computer laboratory.
The donor institutions are the Mendenhall Middle School and Critical Impact Ghana of Greensboro.
Speaking at the ceremony Mr Emmanuel Adzei Annang, Member of the Council of State, appealed to parents and guardians not to shirk their parental responsibility of ensuring the proper upbringing of their children.
Mr Annang urged them not to leave the burden of nurturing their young ones solely on teachers but cooperate with school authorities and assist them to mould the characters of their children.
Mr Kwesi Hutchful, Tema Metropolitan Director of Education, appealed to the school’s authorities to ensure that the computers were utilised to the maximum benefit of the pupils.
Mr Ryan Harwood, Social Studies Teacher of the Mendenhall Middle School, said the donation was the modest contribution of the donors towards the effective teaching of ICT in the school.
Mrs Gift Avorkliyah, Head-teacher of the School, thanked the donors and said the computers would be used judiciously for the benefit of the children.
