KETU S:Jubilant supporters celebrate Mahama’s victory

There was wild jubilation in communities in the Ketu South constituency in the Volta Region following the declaration of President Mahama as the president elect.

People who waited anxiously by their television and radio burst into joy amidst shouting, drumming and dancing when Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Afari Gyan declared John Mahama the winner of the presidential election. Every street became very busy with cars, motorbikes driven carelessly through the crowd of people.

They were immediately joined by others who retired to their beds after their long wait for the declaration of the result was not forth coming.

Ketu South Constituency remained one of the strong holds of the National Democratic Congress. The constituency registered the highest votes for the party in this election with 81,880 which is also the national highest.
