The Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, Ophelia Koomson, has received massive infrastructural boost since the since the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government assumed power in 2009.
She said the Municipality was lagging behind in development projects over the years but the NDC government “is moving forward in the right direction” to ensure that people in the area are not denied the needed infrastructure development to make life more meaningful to them. Ms Koomson, who was inaugurating the rehabilitated Akyem Oda Lorry Park today, assured the people that the government would not deny them their share of the national cake.
Ms Koomson said the government would not renege on its campaign promises and appealed to the electorate to renew the mandate of the NDC.
She said the NDC had a track record of bringing development and urged the electorate to vote for a leader who is credible and had good record to move the nation forward.
Ms Koomson said the election was not about war and appealed to Ghanaians to tolerate each other’s views.
“Let us search diligently for peace that leads to development, progress and prosperity,” she said, stressing that there is the need for unity in the country since disunity often leads to serious consequences.
