Some 5 communities under the Saboba district in the Northern region are guaranteed to have electricity supply in their respective areas when a project to connect them to the national grid is accomplished.
The project is captured under the Rural Electrification Project (REP) and forms part of efforts by the NDC government to expand access to electricity supply through its energy delivery programmes to the local and rural areas.
District Chief Executive for the area, Ali Adolf G. John has therefore revealed that the project currently underway is seriously moving on steadily.
Interacting with Ghanadistricts.com on the project, he said he was impressed with the pace of works at the various project sites and beneficiary communities.
The five earmarked communities for the project on-board include Nankpando 1& 2,Gbabagbam, Nayili 1 & 2, Gbemja and Wapuli respectively.
Meanwhile in order to facilitate the progress on national development and bridge the gap between Northern and Southern Ghana, the government is committing a huge investment to connect at least 2000 communities across the length and breadth of the country to the national grid through the effective implementation of the Rural Electrification Programme.
