FANTEAKWA: Ofosu-Ampofo honoured

The Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has been honoured for his immense contribution to the development of the Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has been instrumental in the schools progress as well as the relocation of the school from its old site to their a site.
For this reason the male and female dormitory blocks of the school have been named after him.
From a deprived beginning, the Begoro Presby model SHS with over 1,000 student population has grown to rock shoulders with advanced schools in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, which was graced by the school PTA, as well as stakeholders in the area, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said government had spent about GHs1.5 million in providing educational projects in the Fanteakwa District alone.
He said government would continue to roll out more of such Better Ghana agenda projects across all sectors not only in the Fanteakwa district but nationwide.
He however donated a set of jerseys, footballs and other assorted items to the school.
For her part, the headmistress of the school, Madam Selina Danso commended the minister for supporting the school and appealed to government to help construct a 2,500 capacity dining hall for them to serve the increasing population of the school.
