AJUMAKO: NCCE holds debate for Parliamentary aspirants

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized an IEA form of debate for Parliamentary candidates in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District in the Central Region.
In attendance were the incumbent MP and candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. C. Ato Forson, Mr. Jerry Henry Quansah for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) and Mr. Leo Yakubu Essel Dadzie of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP).
However parliamentary candidate for the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Festus Beedu absented himself from the programme with no clear reason why he did not attend the debate. The debate according to the NCCE was aimed at creating awareness of the forthcoming December 2012 polls and also highlighting on what aspirants will bring on board when given the nod to steer the affairs of the constituency.
Moderators of the programme however led aspirants to debate on various issues such as education, employment, women and children, agriculture, roads and corruption which has the barrier to Ghana’s development.
Meanwhile, candidates of the various political parties also vowed collaborate fully with the electoral commission and do their best to avoid violence before, during, and after the much anticipated 2012 general election.
