E JUABEN: Abenase Assemblyman commissions new water project

A new mechanized borehole system has been commissioned for the Abenase community in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region by Mr. Richmond Frimpong, Assemblyman for the area.
The project, which cost Ghs23, 350, was a community-based initiative spearheaded by the Assemblyman and the Queen mother of the town.
Revealing this in a dialogue with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assemblyman said the community over the years was faced with water problems, a situation he said became his daily worry.
According to him, various proposals he had sent to the Municipal Assembly and NGOs proved futile hence the need to solicit funds from folks in the town for the project.
He indicated that the response and support he received from the community was awesome and in less time, the project was completed.
He said one of the folks Mr. Ofori Barrack donated a polythank to enable them extend water to a neighbouring community known as Asapong.
“The community has been very helpful,” he intimated.
Mr. Frimpong however commended the people for having faith in him and called on other communities to emulate the Abenase community.
