GORY: Northerner knocked down by pickup on N1 highway

A man believed to be in his early thirties was knocked down by a Toyota Hilux pickup with registration number GN 2999-10 during the early hours of today on the N1 Highway at Apenkwa near Achimota.

The incident happened infront of Sues Inn, a popular hotel at Apenkwa, in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

Some eyewitnesses who narrated the incident to Ghanadistricts.com said the victim who looked like a Northener was crossing the dual N1 highway at an unapproved point towards the Sues Inn area but luck however run out of his side and he was knocked down by the vehicle which was on top spead.

He died instantly on the spot with his head almost off.
However a thourough search was carried on him for identification or mobile phone to ascertain where he was from but none was found but rumours have it that he was drunk from a funeral he attended at Akweteyman near Apenkwa.

The police operations team however came after an hour to convey the corpse to the Accra Police Hospital.
