Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service in the Jomoro District have expressed gratitude to government for its continuous strives to improve their work of fighting fire outbreaks in the area.
According to them, the government has for the past few years done tremendously well in providing the requisite facility to aid their work.
When Ghanadistricts.com visited the district, it was revealed that the assembly through its District Development Fund (DDF) has constructed a new fire station at Half Assini and has also taken delivery of a new fire tender to assist fire fighting in the area.
The arrival of the tender is expected to halt the situation where fire tenders would had to come from other nearby towns such as Tarkwa and Agona Nkwanta to the district in case of outbreaks in any of the communities.
Meanwhile, work is still ongoing on the Tikobo-Ekwei bituminous road construction as part of efforts to improve transportation in the district.
