GUSHIEGU:20 environs to get potable water soon

The Gushiegu District Assembly is still securing more meaningful projects for residents under the Northern Region Small Towns Water and Sanitation projects (NORST) to help sustain the campaign on eradication of guineaworm and other water borne diseases.
However, in order to guarantee continuity of some projects already in existence before the NDC government assumed the reign of power in 2009, the Assembly has thus ensured to promote greatly the 3 year water system project under NORST, designed to increase accessibility to potable water and improve the health conditions of people living in the area.
The District Chief Executive for the Assembly, Fuseini Alhassan in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com maintained that the project which begun implementation 2 years ago is scheduled to end in the year 2013.
He said the project is moving on steadily, adding that the Assembly is to currently advertise for the laying of pipes at the various earmarked communities.
According to him, the project is bound to serve about 20 surrounding environs of Kpatinga with safe drinking water to assist better the social lives of inhabitants in such deprived communities.
