Residents of five different communities under the Tolon district in the Northern region are scheduled to benefit from electricity supply when the Rural Electrification Project (REP) currently being implemented in those areas is completed successfully.
Some of the communities earmarked under this move include, Bulahigu, Gundaa and Kunguri amongst others.
In an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com the District Chief Executive for the Tolon District Assembly, Iddi Manzah Mahama intimated that the project ongoing in the various beneficiary communities would be completed by the end of the year.
He said connecting these local areas to the national grid is important and crucial in the effective implementation of the “Better Ghana” agenda in the district therefore it will not relent to expand the energy delivery project to other deprived areas.
The project is being executed fully by the China Water and Electrification Corporation and forms part of the efforts by government and the Assembly to improve the socio-economic lives of residents.
