AMA:Achimota Melcom building collapses

Ghanadistricts.com can confirm that the 5-storey building holding the Achimota branch of Melcom has collapsed this morning at around 10am.

A number of people are trapped in the building including workers and shoppers; and the Ghana Police service, National Ambulance Service among other security agencies are working around to save the lives of the people.

So far about four people have been rescued by the police and rushed to the hospital. Others who are believed to be alive under the debris are calling and appealing for help to survive. The place is currently chocked with vehicular traffic and eye witnesses.
