KETU N:Persons with disability receive assistance
The Ketu North District Assembly has honour its obligation to physically challenged persons in the district with the release of funds which was disbursed to them for various economic or education purposes.
The District Social Welfare Officer, Cyril Deamesi disclosed to Ghanadistricts.com that GHs78, 031 being 2 percent of the assembly’s common fund has been released and distributed to 187 qualified members of the group.
According to him beneficiaries applied for the fund for various reasons including education, medical expenses, farming and skills training. He said at Penyi which is into be-keeping has also been assisted.
He expressed confidence that most of the beneficiaries will see improvement in their lives especially those using the money for education and economic activities. This he noted will take most of them away from the road sides and other dangerous places where they engage in begging.
To achieve positive impact, he said they engaged them in a number of awareness campaigns at Dekpor, Ehi, Tadzewu and Penyi.
