CHIREPONI:Assembly rehabilitates disability centre

Disabled persons

The Chereponi District Assembly has intensified its support to People living with Disability in the area as it has this year rehabilitated the Disability centre located in the district to boost the wellbeing of disabled persons.

The project which had already been accomplished was executed at a cost of GHS 19,000 through finances obtained from the Disability Management Fund.

However, the establishment of this fund was instituted through the 2% quota from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), directed by government to be set apart for the management of the welfare of disabled persons.

Interacting with Ghanadistricts.com on issues concerning these individuals in the district, Mr.Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah, DCE for the area reiterated that the Assembly has always ensured to extend the needed support and help to the disabled people at the district.

He thereby recounted, the Assembly over the period has been consistent in making sure that it religiously followed commitment of the 2% quota from the DACF which should be lodged into the Disability Management Fund.

He also claimed as part of ways to reach out to them, a good number of existing structures has been tailored to create accessibility for the disabled residents.

The DCE then assured that the Assembly will always seek to promote the wellbeing of these individuals through the implementation of the “Better Ghana” agenda programme.
