CHEREPONI: 250 Disabled persons get support from Assembly

Disabled

A minimum amount of GHS100 has been disbursed each to 250 Persons Living with Disability in the Chereponi district in the Northern region.

The facility made available to these individuals is supposed to support them carry out some Small scale businesses to improve their lots at the district.

Highlighting on the development, Mr. Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah, DCE for the area, noted that the facility given to the beneficiaries comes from the 2% quota of the Disability Management Fund budgeted under the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

He therefore mentioned that beneficiaries should be able to initiate and nurture some businesses, including petty trading, animal rearing and the rest through the monies delivered to them.

He thus stated that the monies although averagely small could be a springboard to a sustainable business activity that may assist in easing their economic burdens and also help to improve their livelihoods in the area.
