According to Mr. Philip Laari, the move was part of the energy delivery programme by the NDC government strategized through the “Better Ghana” agenda in the district.
Mr. Laari explained that, the entire electrification project is to benefit more than 18 communities within the district, but was quick to add that this was just the beginning of the exercise and therefore, the project continues after the first five (5) communities have duly been connected.
The five (5) communities include, Najong 2. Chintulung, Mozio, Yunyoo, Ngama Gberuk and Nanik respectively.
One of the Engineers from the Chinese government, Mr. Zeng Yang said they would be back into the district fully in the next two days to begin the project.
According to him, their visit yeserday was to supply electricity poles to the various communities and to inform the Chiefs and people of the area, as well as Assembly members of the beneficiary communities and also churn out relevant information about the project.
He was optimistic that the project yet to commence will not exceed the deadline for completion, thereby appealed to the DCE to talk to the beneficiary communities to cooperate with them when actual works kicks off.
