AMA: Metropolis marks “My First Day at School”

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly yesterday marked the ‘My first day at School’ as part of the Assembly’s commitment towards good education for children who entered school for the first time.
Some schools visited by the Mayor include the President John Evans Attah Educational Center of Excellence, Kings Way Cluster of School, Bubuashie Primary School, Odorkor 2, 6 and 8 Primary, Kaneshie Awudome Junior High School.
The Mayor of Accra, Mr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, on behalf of the delegation, urged the children to learn hard, since education was the key to success.
He also advised them to always be present in school, in order to become responsible leaders in the future, adding “Government has promised to take care of you to have the best of education.”
They took the opportunity to distribute learning materials and free school uniforms to the fresh children, and promised to do more to show the government’s commitment to giving them better education.
The Mayor also used the occasion to commission a 20-seater restroom facilities at Kaneshie 8 Primary School and Kanshie Awudome Junior High School.
