TMA: Kpone-Katamanso district elects Presiding Member

Kpone Katamanso District, one of the newly created districts curved from the Tema Metropolitan Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has elected Mr. Elliot Ellis Afari as the Presiding Member for the Assembly.

Mr. Afari, 65, farmer also Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpone-Katamanso area polled 23 votes out of a total of 26 votes cast in a second round of voting. Three of the ballots were rejected.

The new PM after his election promised to put up his best for the betterment of the district.

For his part Mr. Kempes Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, announced that the TMA would continue to pay the allowances and salaries of assembly members and staff respectively up to the end of this year.
