GA W: Nii Ankraman town gets transformer

Residents living in the Nii Ankraman Electoral Area in the Ga West Municipality have expressed gratitude to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Assemblyman Mr. Richard Osei for installing a new electricity transformer for them.

The area has for some time now been with electricity because there was an injunction on a proposed land in which the transformer was to be mounted.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assemblyman for the Nii Ankraman Area, Mr. Richard Osei said because he cared for his people he personally appealed to the ECG to provide them with such facility since economic activities in the area were gradually dying and things were getting difficult with especially those who had no money to purchase generators.

He said he however proposed a new place for the transformer to be erected to bring relief to the residents.

Still in the energy sector, Mr. Osei said about 40 old electricity poles have been replaced with new ones and 10 new streetlights also installed within the area.

Mr. Osei said he has also applied to the Ministry of Energy to provide them with about 100 streetlights to complement the existing ones.
