ASUOGYAMAN: Frankadua-Afode road nears completion

Construction of a 30-metre steel bridge on the Frankadua-Afode road is progressing steadily and currently about 75% completed.
The project which was awarded in May 2010 was to be completed in July 2011 last year but due to some setbacks the project delayed.
The GHc522, 815 worth project being constructed under the Ghana ACRO Bridge Project was said to have suffered from two (2) separate flooding last year which nearly collapsed what was already completed and completely washed away alternative routes constructed for motorist during the construction.
Currently, there is no through way for vehicles to cross the bridge.
The effort of the contractor has been commended as he has shown goodwill to complete the project soon. Additional the road itself has been improved considerably.
However, resident have appealed to government to include provision of bitumen surfacing on it to reduce the dust that has affected the health of many people in the area.
The Easter Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith as part of his tour of the region however assured them that the necessary work would be done to ensure the project are completed on time and assured them of honoring the bitumen surfacing.
