Kpone-Katamanso District, one of the newly created districts under the Mills Administration in 2012 has taken giant strides to hit the ground running with a number of development projects.
The project cuts across the transportation and sanitation sectors with aim of giving the area a look of modern district.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Samuel Nortey Mensah from the Kpone Katamanso District Assembly who expressed happiness for the creation of the new district said when they were part of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) they were usually sidelined when it comes to sharing of the national cake.
“The only problem we had under the TMA was that development projects were skewed towards us,” he intimated.
He believed the elevation of the area would to a large extent help attract more projects and initiatives which will intend develop the area further for the Better Ghana Agenda to be realized.
Meanwhile ongoing projects in the new district according to Mr. Nortey included road projects from Accra to Kpone, VALCO roundabout to Kpone, and a culvert bride.
He added that grounds have also been cleared for the construction of a befitting market place to enable traders in the district to trade their merchandise.
