The Sissala East District Assembly is doubling up efforts to complete the drilling of 5 borehole facilities meant to improve the accessibility of potable water in the district.
The project currently under implementation in all the earmarked places is supposed to be completed fully by the end of August, this year.
Communities benefiting from the project include Bakwalla, Challu, Nahabakui, as well as Gwofi Upper and Lower, all suburbs of the district.
Highlighting on the project, the District Chief Executive for the area, Sulemana Alijata Gbentie revealed that the project is solely financed by Government of Ghana (GOG) through its initiative to promote easy accessibility to safe drinking water nationwide.
She claimed the Assembly is earnestly prosecuting the project in all the designated areas, as the contractors are at the moment installing pumps to make sure that the facility would be accomplished within the deadline for completion.
This she noted is part of measures by government to ease the social problems of people in all parts of the country.
