DAY 3: “Draw strength and inspiration from Mills” - Prez Mahama
|Prez Mahama|| |
President John Mahama has today called on Ghanaians to draw inspiration and strength from the legacy of Late President Mills.
President Mahama who paid his last tribute to the late president at the independence square described President Mills as a man of tremendous character.
He said President Mills was a man who ascended to the highest office in the land at the right time in the history of Ghana where political antagonism had engulfed the nation.
“President Mills entered politics not to be something but to do something; not to seek power over principle but to seek power for principle,” he added.
According to him this selfless character and the pinnacle of modest lifestyle exhibited by the departed President should bond all Ghanaians to fight for peace and a common purpose.
President Mahama again urged Ghanaians to continually uphold the democratic credentials the country was currently enjoying saying that “we have done it as one people and one nation which shall serve and continue to serve as a shining star of Africa and the world at large”.
