MILLS’ FUNERAL:Burial service underway
The presidential casket of the late President JEA Mills has arrived at the independence Square amidst full military honours.
The procession from the State House through the street to the square where the final rites is performed has been very orderly and to depict his status a red carpet was laid for his final journey.
Many people who lined along the street waved as the casket passed by. Others sung and danced as usual of Ghanaian to show their sorrow and love for the late president.
The arrival of the presidential casket was preceded by the arrival of the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.
As the commander in chief of the Armed Forces, all the Pall-bearers were senior officers from the armed forces notably, Brigadier Generals.
Immediately after the casket was placed in position, President Mahama lit the perpetual flame to signal the commencement of the burial service.
