MFANTSEMAN:New Presiding Member for Ekumfi District

Mr. Daniel Hammond has been elected as the first ever Presiding Member for the newly created Ekumfi district in the Central Region.

Members of the Assembly however failed to elect a Presiding Member (PM) on the day of inauguration as all candidates failed to pull the required number of votes.

However on the assemblys first sitting, Mr. Hammond managed to pull 25 votes out of the total votes cast to beat Mr. Joseph Antoban to become the first PM since the inaugration of the District.

Henry Kweku Hayfron, Chief Executive for Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, expressed satisfaction to the high sense of tolerance and appealed to members of the new assembly to work with unity.

He further called on them to work hard to ensure the forward march of the district and the country as a whole.
