YILO:Assembly to receive 5,600 desks from GES
|Dual desks|| |
The Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly is expecting about five thousand six hundred, (5,600) dual and mono desks from the Ministry of Education (MOE) for distribution to basic schools in the municipality.
This has become necessary to provide the needed comfort for students especially in areas where new blocks have been built.
Municipal chief Executive, Andrews Sodah who disclosed this to assembly members at a meeting said the government is looking at improving teaching and learning thus committed to eliminating all bottle necks that hinders the attainment of this goal.
According to him, the target group would also include existing schools that are also faced with furniture constraints compelling students to carry their own tables and chairs to and from school each day.
On infrastructure, the MCE said, under the USAID Construction Projects which are being implemented through the MOE, the municipality is benefitting from a 3-unit classroom block for Korm Junior High School (JHS), 1No. Kindergarten (KG) block for Pleyo and a modern toilet facility for Ogome Anglican Primary.
