N JUABEN:ER to enjoy reliable power supply

The people of the Eastern Region have been assured of improved and reliable power supply soon when major projects in the energy sector that are currently ongoing are completed.
The regional Minister, Victor Smith who gave the assurance revealed that the government through the Electricity Company of Ghana is undertaking two major projects in Koforidua and and Akim Oda. In Koforidua, a new switching station has been constructed at Mile 50 while upgrading of the primary sub-station is in progress at Akim Oda.
Additionally, the region is also benefiting from another project which is the conversion of the 11 KV Feeder to 33KV Feeder for the Tafo-Ayinam-Begoro and the Tafo-Suhum-Kibi Lines.
Complains of erratic power supply featured prominently from the regional minister’s interaction with residents in the various towns when he toured the municipal and district assemblies in the region to acquaint himself with situations on the ground.
The minister expressed confidence that the completion of these projects would bring relief in power supply to affected communities. He said government is doing a lot to ensure general power supply across the country is improved.
