The whole of the Koforidua Township on Tuesday observed the one week celebration of the death of late President John Evans Atta Mills. Many traders at the central market area wore black and red dresses to mourn the late president. Taxi drivers and some commercial drivers had red banners flying on their vehicles while others pasted the portrait of the late President on their vehicles. Some traders at the central business area mounted loud speakers in front of their shops and played dirges. At the Koforidua Jackson’s Park where the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council observed the one week celebration of the death of the late President, the whole place was filled to capacity with people clad in black and red attire. Many, who went to the Park, could not get seats in spite of the many extra chairs that were brought. At the regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), around 11.00 hours, when the Ghana News Agency visited the place, canopies had been erected and dirges were being played. Since the death of the late President, the New Juaben South constituency of the NDC had been mourning daily with music blearing dirges in front of the office. GNA
