SOCIAL: COCOBOD mourns President John Evans Atta Mills

The Board, Management and Staff of COCOBOD are still in a state of shock following the untimely death of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Prof. John Evans Atta Mills at the 37 Military Hospital on Tuesday 24th July, 2012.

We wish to extend our deepest condolence to his wife, immediate family and the entire nation for the loss of this illustrious son of Ghana.

The late president can be best remembered for his quest for peace and dedication to the cause of the cocoa, coffee and sheanut industry.

During his reign as President, Prof. Mills supported many farmer-interventions which helped Ghana to attain an unprecedented cocoa production target of over one million tonnes in the 2010/2011 crop season.

It is, therefore, regrettable that such a noble and hardworking statesman should pass on when he still had a lot to offer mother Ghana.

It is our fervent prayer that the Good Lord receives him into His eternal bosom and grants him a peaceful rest.
