E AKIM:2 communities to get toilet facilities

Two number 10-seater Aqua Privy toilet facilities are under construction at two communities including Ahwenease and new Tafo Zongo in the East Akim Municipality.

The two projects being financed by the Municipal Assembly through the District Development Facility are aimed at addressing the challenges residents in those communities are confronted with in regards to toilet facilities.

The projects estimated at GHs74, 857 and GHs69, 455.10 respectively are also targeted at ensuring that the municipality achieves it desire of clean and healthy environment as the presence of these facilities would deter people from defecating in bushes around them which would turn out as environmental nuisance.

Chief Executive of the Municipality stated that the two new projects are
but few the toilet facilities provided to communities in the municipality, indicating that others faced with similar challenges would
be attended to when fund is available.
